Warcraft gives players the flexibility to be creativity when building your character for each style of play with in World of Warcraft.   The problem is that sometimes too much choice can be over whelming and you may end up making poor decisions in your talent tree.

WOW MAGE BUILDS  CAN HELP

Every player is different and every build can be different.  But there are only a few mage builds that will optimize the way your ‘toon will perform in WoW and throughout different levels of the game.  Depending on what level your character is at or what style of play you like will depend on the exact build you need to have for your character.

Three modes of play in WoW

So really, if you’ve just started playing WoW you know that there are basically three modes of play within the game.  You need to build your mage to one of these three ways.  These are

• Leveling or Questing
• Raiding or Dungeons
• PVP or player versus player

Three specs per class

All classes have three specialties or specs that a class can be played.  For mages the three builds are:

• Arcane
• Fire
• Frost

Depending on which type of play your interesting in will determine how you build your mage.  Each spec may be better for a type of play, for example Frost is better for PVP, due to many of its movement impairing effect.  (But we’ll go into that a bit lateR)

Your WoW mage build will depend on whether your character will perform at its peak during each mode of play.  What we have done is broken down each mode of play and shown you what the best mage build is for that style.  For example, when leveling your mage build will need to have more single mob dps than say in a raid where AEO is more important.

WoW Mage Builds – Leveling as Arcane

When leveling most of the time you are focusing on a single mob.  The need for good AOE spells is limited, so you want to concentrate you build on putting as much DPS to single target mobs.  A really good build for this situation is an Arcane build.  Arcane is great for low level mages wanting to do as much damage as they can. So for this we highly recommend an Arcane Mage build for leveling.  This spec works best.

WoW Mage Builds – Raids/Dungeons as Fire

For doing raids, dungeons and end game play you are going to want to improve your AOE as much as possible and become an expert at crowd control.  One of the best wow mage build for this is the Fire spec.  Our recommend mage build is a good fire spec to give  you that AOE/CC ability that your raid party will love you for.   If used right the fire spec can waste people in the BG’s and the new Improved Scorch talent makes Fire a great alternative to frost in PVP. WoW Mage Builds – Frost for PVP

For player versus player hands the best build has got to be Frost.  Frost has a lot of movement slowing and impairing effects that really helps in a PVP battle.  You slow your opponent so that you can just rain in the damage and he’s dead before he even gets close to you.   Frost is really versatile build and can useful in leveling too.

Many people use these mage builds to mix with their own style to make a better build. Cool! And you are right, building up your character to your style of play can only be done by you.
